B.C. Lavender Workshop

Mark your calendars! This first annual event will be held at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, in Kelowna, B.C. and will include both industry and academic speakers. This workshop is geared towards both growers and academics.
Talks will be divided into two sessions with presentations from industry members in the morning and from academic members of the network in the afternoon. The afternoon will focus on the industrial status of lavender with international speakers and growers sharing their insights and shedding light on current topics of importance for new and established growers. Topics covered in the morning session will include: genomics approaches for easier identification of lavender cultivars, improvement of lavender cultivars, bioactive potential of lavender essential oil and molecular mechanisms regulating lavender essential oil production.
